The mission of the CSSB is to understand the structure, dynamics and function of pathogens and their interactions with the host. In this context, we use, provide and develop cutting-edge technologies. Our fundamental research aims to enable the identification of targets for interventions.
Scientific collaboration and dialogue are at the heart of the CSSB with the aim of training and empowering scientists from all backgrounds so that they can confidently tackle the complex challenges of tomorrow.
The centre collaborates with 9 partners located in Hamburg, Germany, near the PETRA III beamlines of the German Electron Synchrotron (DESY) and close to the European XFEL.
