Head of Edibles

Marijuana Edibles Chefs are culinary innovators responsible for creating flavorful, carefully dosed edibles containing cannabinoids and terpenes. Cooks who have worked with marijuana are stepping out of their kitchens and into state-standard facilities filled with kitchen equipment built for commercial edible production.

Cannabis Extraction Technician

Cannabis extraction jobs are not entry-level MMJ jobs, but can be obtained by progressing within a marijuana extraction company. Extraction technicians and master extractors can earn a considerable amount of money, although the position requires a high level of skill and experience operating closed-loop extraction equipment and potentially flammable solvents.

Extractors are responsible for creating concentrated marijuana products, usually through a solvent-based extraction process. The process can create extracts such as wax, shatter, oil, live resin, etc. Jobs in marijuana extraction may require a degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field.

An extraction director or laboratory executive oversees all laboratory operations and provides strategic leadership throughout all extraction operations. From standardizing extraction and manufacturing methods to recruiting team members to manage the extraction and refining process, laboratory directors control every aspect of the manufacturing process from start to finish. Lab directors can earn between $75,000 and $100,000 per year.

Mining managers manage the day-to-day operations of the mining process. They delegate activities to the extraction team and ensure that the team processes, tests and packages the extracted products. Extraction managers must have at least a bachelor's degree in science or several years of experience in cannabis extraction. Extraction managers can earn between $50,000 and $70,000 per year. Some highly skilled extraction managers can earn almost $100,000 per year.

Dispensary manager

A dispensary manager position is a highly coveted job title for people with management experience in a retail environment and a love for cannabis. A cannabis dispensary manager is responsible for ensuring that the store complies with state laws.

Managers manage the day-to-day operations of a dispensary and ensure revenue remains strong. They also hire, train and supervise all retail operations to meet customer demand.
