Create Still Life Paintings That Last! Art Tips and Tricks for Art Teachers.
Disclaimer: The books were damaged (just from long-term wear and tear). They were given away for free outside of our library for about a month. Then they were thrown away because they had already lived a beloved life. I saved them from the landfill to reuse in these still lifes for my middle school art classes. I used 10 books. Most were novels printed between the 70s and 90s that were missing pages and starting to fall off (e.g. Alison Lurie's "War of the Tates" (the one I was gluing at the beginning), Tom Clancy's "Das Echo aller Frucht"). Some were older reference books and catalogs, like this one called "Die Uhren von IWC 2004 BeWährtes Aus Schaffhausen" which is a book about German watches from 2004. This one is in pretty good condition but outdated, more of a catalog. The books were all chosen because of their size and the scale of the still life, not the content they contained. The books were left at our school for several months to be donated.
