Today, most technology companies are engaging in agile signaling – without even knowing it. They do nothing to make it easier to adapt to change, but make a show of pretending they are agile.

Many software developers and other industry professionals, even those with long careers, have never participated in a project with a truly agile software development process. So it's not uncommon to hear software engineers and project managers talk about how much they "hate agile/" behind closed doors.

A select few who understand what it really means to be agile. This means working together so that adapting to change is easy. For these unfortunate people, working for these companies can seem like gaslighting. Tech workers across the industry are expressing their disgust with Scrum and Agile more than ever. And when SAFe, or “Scaled Agile Framework/” arrived, it marked the final nail in the coffin of many companies being able to realize the true benefits of agility.
