As the saying goes, clothes make the man. This is certainly evident in /"Fashioning Masculinities: The Art of Menswear/" at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The exhibition includes both historical and modern fashion, with a focus on British men's fashion. It is loosely organized chronologically, from the height of male sartorial exuberance to its "great renunciation" in the 19th century to the modern overturning of male sartorial norms. These three historic moments are cleverly divided into three sections: /"Overdressed,/" /"Undressed,/" and /"Redressed./" Speaking of straightening, I was also happy to see a selection of young British designers from color – including Wales Bonner, Bianca Saunders, Priya Ahluwalia and Nicholas Daley – represented in the exhibition. #fashion #blackfashion #blackbritishfashion #fashionexhibition #fashioningmasculinities
