These two forms of expression are intrinsically linked. What came first: dance music?
Dance is a form of expression as old as music. Both forms of storytelling are essential for conveying passionate emotions and immortalizing cultures.

Tango is one of the most iconic genres, with specific characteristics in both music and dance. It embodies a partnership between two people: a passionate personification or partnership and romance. Thus, in telling the story of a tango, we find many similarities between the way dancers and musicians convey these ideas.

1. Leadership: In dance as in music, one person leads the other. In this case, as I play the melody and the guitar accompanies me, I lead the music and communicate these signals through my facial expressions and eye contact.
2. Rhythmic Connection: Tango is built on a distinctive syncopated rhythmic pattern. Just as dancers must internalize and embody the complex rhythms, the violin and guitar duo must anchor themselves in the tango's signature groove.
3. Expression: Just as tango dancers convey their passion through their movements and physical connection, musicians must imbue their performance with a similar emotional intensity, using rubato, vibrato and expressive phrasing to capture the fire of tango.
4. Dialogue: Tango is about partnership, about creating a story through conversation. In music as in dance, this genre is about knowing when to step into the spotlight and when to step back, creating space for a fluid and intriguing conversation.
5. Tension and release: Tango is characterized by a constant interplay between tension and release, as dancers move between close embraces and more open positions. This dynamic is reflected in tango music, where phrases build tension through rubato and expressive accents, only to release that tension through fluid resolutions and legato lines.
