Rick explains that every person knows someone that someone else should know. That introverts can be comfortable being uncomfortable by "collecting dots/" and connecting dots only that strong-willed individuals can see. If we are intentional on our own terms, we can build community through common sense and common sense.

Rick has been an active partner with Portland-area startups for over 20 years and produces content on his tech blog, Silicon Florist. Co-founder and CEO of Wieden+Kennedy's PIE (Portland Incubator Experiment), Rick mentors engineers, creators, actors, bloggers, and geeks to create technology-fueled cultural disruption around the world.

With special thanks to the TEDxPortland organizing team, over 70 volunteers and valued partners – without you, this experience would not be possible. Our event history can be viewed at TEDxPortland.com
