I had the opportunity to do a little lesson with the kids in time for the #lunareclipse2022…
We saw the copper color, but the moon wasn't very bright on our side of the world (we should really start saving up for a telescope!). How was your experience?

I decided to do an impromptu lesson right before the eclipse and was grateful to have a great resource on hand. Since my 10-year-old is REALLY interested in astronomy right now, we decided to pick up this 1935 title – Astronomy: The Splendor of the Heavens Brought Down to Earth by former University of Arkansas President Arthur M. Harding

The book looks promising (yesterday was the first time I read something to the kids)!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Helpful to aid in Bible study!
/"This is a fascinating book. I had no idea how the constellations related to the Bible. I don't know why I never heard this from any pastor in my church life, but it explains a ton of symbolism in Scripture. For example, the 4 cherubim and their 4 faces, the references to the names of Jacob's children, for example, Judah-Leo, Dinah-Virgo being the only daughter, Asher-Libra was a weigher of bread, Joseph-Sagittarius /"His bow abides in strength/" was an archer. I never knew much about the zodiac, but I discovered how much of a role it played. It explains a lot now in Revelation. I found this book online and decided I had to buy it so I could bookmark it and have a handy reference. God and His work never ceases to amaze! So now when I read Genesis 49:4 when Jacob said to Reuben, Unstable as water (or bubbling as water), you do not Excel, I know what he means. He called him the Aquarius of the constellations, saying he was weak. Aquarius is the weakest of the zodiac. Or in Ezekiel 1 where he describes the cherubim in verse 10: As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion on the right side; and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; and they four had the face of an eagle. It all makes perfect sense now.
This book is not limited to connecting the Bible to constellations, it also covers many other religions. For my part, I am only interested in understanding the word of God better./"
