Enjoy this one-minute breathing exercise for anxiety.

Inhale, hold, exhale, then hold for equal lengths.

Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds.

Slow breathing can gradually make you calmer.

Inhale gently through your nose. Exhale slowly through your mouth, as if you were blowing out a candle. Or you can simply inhale and exhale through your nose if that's convenient for you.

If 4-4-4-4 seems too slow or too fast for you, try my Pocket Breath Coach app. You can customize the breathing rate as you wish. And it has many other soothing sounds.

You take 3.75 breaths per minute when you do this exercise.
