Today I participated in Art Battle Sydney. This is a competition between 12 artists. There were two rounds with 6 artists each. We painted in 20 minute segments and the audience voted for their favorites to compete in the final showdown. The completed paintings were also auctioned at the end of the evening. I made a quick sketch on my iPad and used it as inspiration for my painting, full of movement and energy. Due to the size of the canvases, 20 minutes is very fast and we did not have time to correct errors or add details. It was quite intense and required a lot of concentration. It was a really fun experience and I was able to challenge myself and hone my painting skills in public spaces. I am grateful to be included in the experience.
